A specialist in ENT and Head & Neck Surgery he was the chief ENT consultant of G.B. Grassi Hospital of Rome from 2000 to 2011.
He graduated in 1975 from the University "La Sapienza" and specialised in ENT in 1978 at the "Cattolica del Sacro Cuore" University, achieving top marks. He later developed his nasal surgery skills through stages and courses at important international university centers: the "Pontificia Universitade Cattolica de Rio de Janeiro" with Professor Ivo Pitanguy (1985 and 1987), the "Accademia Italiana di Rinologia" of Bologna with Professor Giorgio Sulsenti (1990), the "University of Illinois at Chicago" with Professor Dean Toriumi, (1998), the "Southwestern Medical Center" of Dallas with Professor Jack Gunter (1998).
He is amongst the founders and he was thepresident of the AICEF-rcf (Italian Society of Facial Plastic Surgery) from 2010 to 2016. He is amongst the founders of the Italian Academy of Rhinology. He is an active member of the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery. He is an active member of the Italian Society of ENT. He was the president (year 2012) of the "Rome and Lazio Otolaryngology Association"
His primary field of professional interest is in all aspects of nasal surgery, with the main objective of achieving the difficult and delicate equilibrium between aesthetics and functionality. He was among the first to apply the surgical technique of endoscopic nasal surgery. Every two years he manages Naso & Dintorni (Nose & Surroundings), an international course of nasal and facial surgery where hundreds of Italian and international surgeons have participated since it began in 1993 until today.
Resident in Rome, married and the father of two daughters. His favourite sport is sailing and he took part in numerous regattas in his youth. He now sails his Beneteau 42 ft at every opportunity.
